We are not sale-guys which are masters in communication.
But, in our daily development work it can be useful or not. My thought is communication should be effective:
Young developers sometimes choose not effective communication type:
Choosing of right communication type is huge time economy, it make working in team healthy and smoothly!
We are not sale-guys which are masters in communication.
But, in our daily development work it can be useful or not. My thought is communication should be effective:
- If you talk face to face:
- Opponent can quickly ask a questions about some new things/vision you talk about.
- You both have emotion-contact. This make some things easier if you work on same goal. Its easier to bring passion in work, and show value of the question.
- You consume all attention of your opponent.
- Opponent do not have a time to think deeply or seriously analyze something.
- If you chat in IM:
- Opponent can quickly ask simple question. Explaining of new vision can be difficult.
- You both have week emotion-contact.
- Require minimum attention.Your opponent can watch TV at that time, be on meeting and chat with you on phone.
- Opponent have a time to think deeply, but in most cases he will answer instantly.
- If you write an email:
- Opponent can-NOT quickly ask question. Instead, he note them to ask at once.
- Emotion-contact mostly not exist (in case you not force it).
- You consume all attention of your opponent.
- Opponent have a time to read, analyze, go to a coffee, think deeply and give reasonable answer which have a value.
Young developers sometimes choose not effective communication type:
- Write an emails with one simple question (with all team members in CC).
- Asked serious question in IM which opponent can simply ignore.
- Not ask question at all.
- Ask wrong questions
- Choose wrong opponent.
Choosing of right communication type is huge time economy, it make working in team healthy and smoothly!
